Rhodes and his brother, Bernard Rhodes, saw the need for enhanced material handling and unit transport conveyor systems and as a result they partnered in opening ‘A and B Products, Inc.’ based out of  Chicago, Illinois. A decade later, in 1971, Arthur J. Rhodes passed away and his son, Arthur b. Rhodes, “Bernie,” to all who knew him, took the reins under the new company name of ‘Rhodes Machinery International, Inc.’ or RMI.
